COVID-19

February 18, 2022 - Update

As per Guilford County's most recent change in reaction to the current decline in COVID-19 numbers, we are adjusting our mask policy once again.

Starting today, Friday, February 18th, Ultimate Kids will no longer require masks for anyone in the building including staff, athletes, and parents/guardians. We ask that everyone use their best judgment when choosing whether or not to wear a mask for the safety of themselves and all whom you may come in contact with when attending Ultimate Kids.

In an effort to keep all of our staff, athletes, and families safe when visiting our facilities, DO NOT enter our buildings if you or your students are sick or are known to have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 7 days.

In the future, we will continue to follow the procedures required by state and local mandates.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue efforts to ensure the health and safety of everyone who works at or visits Ultimate Kids.

November 16, 2021 - Updates

Hello Ultimate Kids Parents,

Thank you for your continued support!

As we have continued to do throughout the last two years, we are adjusting our Covid protocols for the gym to reflect the current state of our county and state as those changes occur.

Starting today, Tuesday, November 16th, Ultimate Kids will no longer require masks for anyone in the building including staff, athletes, and parents/guardians. We do ask that everyone use their best judgment when choosing whether or not to wear a mask for the safety of all whom you may come in contact with when attending Ultimate Kids. We also strongly encourage those who do not feel comfortable without a mask to continue to wear them at will.

In an effort to keep all of our staff, athletes, and families safe when visiting our facilities, we do ask that if you or your students are sick that you do not enter into our facilities.

While we also do not have a limit on capacities within the building, we do ask that you be considerate when in more crowded spaces of those around you such as the lobbies and parent viewing areas. When possible, try to rotate family members who wish to come for viewing as opposed to bringing large groups of family members in at one time. Keep your family together while you are waiting or watching and continue to social distance when possible. Please continue to be courteous of those in the viewing area by not standing at the railings blocking other’s views. It is our hope that with a little effort from you all, we will not have to return to limiting how many people can come into our facility.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through new territory. We plan to reevaluate these policies often and will send out communication just as soon as a change has been made. Safety will always be our number one priority for all of our Ultimate Kids families and staff.

We look forward to seeing you all throughout this holiday season!

The Ultimate Kids Ownership Team

August 13, 2021 - Updates

First, we want to thank you for your continued support throughout the summer. We are excited to begin the new school year.

This week the Guilford County Commissioners established a mask mandate to take effect Friday, August 13th at 5 pm for all businesses in Guilford County. Ultimate Kids will begin to follow the mandate at that same time. We are asking all coaches, staff, athletes, and families to wear a mask when in the building at Ultimate Kids until further notice (Mask mandate is for adults, and children ages 5 and up. Parent's may have younger children wear a mask if they desire but it is not required). Just as before, athletes will be allowed to take their masks down for needed breaks and when safety is at risk. When this occurs we will see to it that the athlete is appropriately distanced from others in the class.

Thank you for your understanding! It is certainly not easy for any of us to navigate but we are grateful for everyone’s patience in this matter.

June 1, 2021 - Updates

Thank you for your continued support!

Two weeks ago we shared that we would slowly be releasing new Covid protocols from the gym, in an effort to keep all of our staff, athletes, and families safe when visiting our facilities.

Starting today Tuesday June 1st, Ultimate Kids will no longer require masks for anyone in the building including staff, athletes, and parents/guardians. We do ask that everyone use their best judgement when choosing whether or not to wear a mask for the safety of all whom you may come in contact with when attending Ultimate Kids. We also strongly encourage those who do not feel comfortable without a mask to continue to wear them at will.

We will also continue to limit capacities within the building to one parent/guardian per child, and no siblings. Social distancing is encouraged.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through new territory. We plan to reevaluate these policies often and will send out communication just as soon as a change has been made. Safety will always be our number one priority for all of our Ultimate Kids families and staff.

We look forward to seeing you all this summer!

May 17, 2021 - Updates

We first want to thank you for your continued support!

On Friday, May 14th, Governor Cooper and Greensboro city officials lifted all mandates pertaining to mask, social distancing, and capacities. Within those guidelines, private businesses, such as ours, were given the means to create policies as needed to ensure safety of all. As we proceed forward, Ultimate Kids has chosen to take a slower, more cautious approach as we proceed forward.

Starting today, Monday, May 17th, Ultimate Kids will no longer require masks for parents/guardians inside the building. We do ask that everyone use their best judgement when choosing whether or not to wear a mask for the safety of all whom you may come in contact with when attending Ultimate Kids. We do also strongly encourage those who do not feel comfortable without a mask to wear them at will.

We will also continue to limit capacities within the building to one parent/guardian per child, and no siblings. Social distancing is encouraged.

Until further guidance is put out for youth programming, all of our children 5 years old and older will be expected to continue to wear a mask when in class or practices. Just as before, all athletes will be able to remove their masks when needed for safety reasons.

All staff in the building will continue to be required to wear masks when coaching and interacting with athletes and parents inside the building.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through new territory. We plan to reevaluate these policies often and will send out communication just as soon as a change has been made. Safety will always be our number one priority for all of our Ultimate Kids families and staff.

We look forward to seeing you all during our Spring Showcase this week!

December 17, 2020 - Class Location Changes

This is the time of year when each of us looks back and reflects on all that we experienced throughout the course of the year. It is when we celebrate all of the things we are grateful for, and look to improve all of the things that didn’t quite go as we had hoped. We find ourselves feeling incredibly grateful for many blessings in a very eventful year. We are thankful to be able to serve our community, to have a healthy staff, and to have so many families, just like yours, supporting us during these times.

As many of you surely understand, this year has not been without its trials for our small business. We have worked very hard to go above and beyond the required measures to keep everyone safe during this time, yet the times have taken their toll on our company. It is with great sadness that we inform you that we will be closing our Ultimate Kids Too facility.

Starting January 2nd, 2021, all of our current programming at this facility will be moved into our main facility at 6904 Downwind Rd. This includes Preschool Gymnastics, Parkour, Ninja Warrior, the Tumblebees Learning Center, and Tumblebees Kids Crew. Here is the good news -- these will still be the same great programs, just in a different location. While we are sad to part with the space at UK 2, we know the heart of these programs is the staff and the families who join us weekly!

Stay tuned for exciting news on the hard work we are putting into renovating the new spaces for these classes in our main gym facility. We continue to be committed to providing our families with the best in fun and fitness, all in a safe environment.

Thank you again for your commitment to Ultimate Kids! It is because of you that we can continue to support our staff and their families!

October 27, 2020 - Mask Update

First and foremost, thank you so much for your support over the past few months. This has been quite a trying time for so many local businesses, and we appreciate the ability to see your children’s faces in our gym each week. It truly brings us such joy!

Within these unprecedented times, we are regularly updating our policies and procedures pertaining to Covid-19. Monday, November 23rd, the North Carolina Governor issued a new executive order which went into effect this past Wednesday, November 25th. The order states that everyone, 5 and older, is required to wear a mask at all times when indoors, not around members of their household. This includes when exercising and when 6 feet or more of social distancing applies. Due to this new order, Ultimate Kids will be requiring everyone in the building to wear a mask or face covering at all times. This includes athletes during their classes except when safety is a factor. In that case, athletes will be allowed to remove their face covering during a specific skill being performed and then will be asked to immediately pull their face covering back up. This new policy will begin at Ultimate Kids on Monday, November 30th, and will continue until Friday, December 11th, unless the Governor and the NC Health Department decide otherwise.

boy and girl wearing a mask

We will continue to screen at the door, as we have since reopening, as well as continue to require frequent handwashing. Our staff will also continue to disinfect and regularly deep clean equipment and common areas for you and your family’s safety, as well as the safety of our staff. Please remember to bring your children 15 minutes prior to class beginning so that we can check everyone in and begin classes on time.

Just a reminder, the gym will be closed for classes Wednesday, November 25th through Sunday, November 29th.

Thank you again for hanging in there with us! We continue to strive to give you the most safe and caring environment that we can, while also providing top-notch training.

We are grateful for your families and wish you a very Happy Holiday Season!

Phase 3 Update October 2, 2020

As Governor Cooper moves our state into phase 3, Ultimate Kids will continue to operate with strict social distancing and sanitation protocols in place. Please review the videos linked below to see the specific protocols for the program(s) in which your have students enrolled.

May 27 Update

WE ARE REOPENING ON JUNE 1st!

On Friday, May 22nd, Governor Cooper made revisions to his Phase 2 plan. Youth sports are now allowed to take place with no contact. We are so excited because this means we can offer you a full line-up of summer programming, including summer camps, mini camps, classes, and online classes. Please check out the rest of our website for full details to come on each of these options.

We want to assure you that we are going above and beyond with our safety procedures this summer to keep our athletes and their families safe. We appreciate you working with us to make this happen!

Carefully read our NEW SAFETY RULES and our STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURES below and discuss with your child, so you will both know what to expect when they come back to Ultimate Kids. A PROCEDURE WALK-THROUGH VIDEO is now available for you to view, and this coming Friday (May 29), we will be offering the option for one parent/guardian per family to do a live in-person walk-through at the gym. In order to participate, you must SIGN UP and wear a mask during the walk-through.

NEW GENERAL SAFETY RULES

ULTIMATE KIDS PARTICIPANTS

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to class/camp start time to ensure enough time for checking in and hand washing (see more details in step-by-step processes below).
  • Bring a water bottle, as our water fountains will no longer be available.
  • Athletes may bring a mask to wear in class/camp, if their parent chooses. Masks will not be provided, and will need to be brought from home. However, masks may be purchased if needed with all proceeds going to the Sally Newton Memorial Foundation.

BELONGINGS

  • We encourage athletes to leave all of their belongings (shoes, extra clothes, etc.) with their parents.
  • If athletes must keep their things with them, they should bring a bag to put them all in. These bags will be collected into a tub designated for their specific class or camp, and will go with their group from one event to the next.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

  • Only one adult will be allowed to stay and spectate with the athlete during class/camp to maintain the Governor’s Phase 2 guidelines.
  • If an adult would like to stay, they will be required to go through the same screening process as the athlete.
  • They are also required to properly wear a mask (mask will not be provided but are available for purchase) when inside the building.
  • Adults are expected to keep 6 feet of social distance between others. As another option, parents may choose our outside seating, placed 6 feet apart of social distance as per Phase 2 guidelines.

COACHES/STAFF

  • All staff members will answer health related questions as well as have their temperature checked upon arrival. If the coach has a fever or is sick in any way, they will be sent home.
  • Coaches will check equipment to ensure it is all safe and clean before students arrive.
  • Coaches are required to wear a mask at all times when they are teaching and/or interacting with parents and students.
  • Coaches will be washing their hands thoroughly in between each class/camp.
  • Coaches will have time between classes/camps in which to rest and rehydrate.
  • They will also spend time disinfecting and cleaning all of the equipment used during their session and will set everything back up, clean before the next group of students arrives.

STEP-BY-STEP SAFE CLASS/CAMP PROCEDURES

View our video walk-through of these steps now.

  • Once you arrive at the gym, please find a place to park and maintain appropriate social distancing in the parking lot.
  • Everyone will enter the gym through the marked ENTRANCE door and exit the gym through the marked EXIT door. The sidewalks to the entry point will be marked for families to stand at a safe distance while going through the check-in process.
  • At the door, staff (wearing masks) will meet the athlete and parent to go through a temperature scan. If anyone has a fever of 100 degrees or higher, or comes to the gym sick, they will be sent home immediately.
  • At this time anyone, who hasn’t already done so in their iClass account, will sign a new waiver specifically pertaining to viruses and illness.
  • Once the athlete is able to come in, they should give all of their belongings, except their water bottles, to their parent/guardian.
  • Students will go straight to the bathrooms to wash their hands thoroughly. Safe social distance markings will be indicated inside the bathroom areas at Ultimate Kids main location and the Climbing Gym where bathrooms are open to a group.
  • Groups will be separated appropriately in the lobby by camp or class, with students assigned a colored dot to stand on which is spaced a minimum of 6 feet apart from one another. The color the student is assigned will be their color for the remainder of the class/camp.
  • After hands are washed, one parent/guardian per family may find a place to sit, in one of the designated parent seating areas, with their mask worn appropriately the entire time, and maintaining a 6 foot distance between each person. We ask that chairs are not moved from where they are placed. If you need to speak with someone at the front desk, please wait until classes have begun to do so, and maintain an appropriate distance.
  • Students will enter the gym, one at a time, upon the coaches directions. They will find their colored dot at their first event and will rotate from one apparatus to the next on the coaches call. They will not rotate freely. They will switch to each event in the same manner – one at a time, finding their color, and rotating when the coach asks.
  • All equipment will be disinfected immediately following its use by one group, to ensure that it is clean and ready for the next group to use.
  • Floors throughout the gym will be clearly marked for traffic, so that athletes and coaches do not pass each other closer than 6 feet apart when traveling from one spot to the other.
  • During this time, coaches will not be spotting in an effort to keep a safe social distance, unless there is an emergency and the coach needs to make contact with the athlete for safety reasons.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the gym, if there is a need during classes/camps.
  • During the last 5 minutes of class/camp, parents will be asked to begin gathering their things and exit to the lobby where they will find a colored dot marking on the floor, to wait for their athlete. Parents may also choose to wait outside if they prefer, and coaches will walk athletes out of the exit door to meet them.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available upon exit.

May 1 Update

Hello Ultimate Kids Families,

“Thank you!” for continuing to support our small business throughout this time. Thank you to all who continued to pay for your children’s classes, for joining our zoom events, watching all of the videos made, posting and reposting things on social media, and sending sweet emails and texts of encouragement to your children’s coaches. Those acts of kindness and support are what has helped all of us survive over the past month.

Here are some updates on what has been going on with Ultimate Kids in April. Thanks to your financial support, Ultimate Kids was able to pay our entire staff, for the month of April, for their normal hours. That spans from our full-time department leaders to our part-time, weekend party staff. Everyone was able to receive their normal paychecks, and we did not have to furlough even one employee. One of our most important goals going into the month was being able to continue to take care of our staff. Thanks to each of you, that is exactly what we did. All other bills were put to the side, including owners’ salaries, as we supported our staff who have so incredibly supported Ultimate Kids.

We have been going strong with online classes for a month now, and have made huge improvements in scheduling, class offerings, and communication. We are excited to announce that we now have a separate website solely dedicated to online learning! Here, you will find your child’s program(s) of participation and, in one click, access all pre-recorded videos, schedules, live class links, homework assignments, words of encouragement, and links to email your Department Leaders. This site will continue to evolve and improve. It is our hope this website helps reduce stress for you at home. If you have friends who are interested in joining us for online training, we are now registering new students. Simply ask them to email us at office@ultimate-kids.com and we will help them get set up.

The safety of our students has always been our first priority. Jumping into unchartered territories with online training, we are doing all that we can to keep your athletes safe at home. Throughout the month, procedures have evolved and we have formalized a set of policies to help keep your child safe while participating online. You will find these policies on the new website, and also receive them in the email from your department leader this week.

As we look toward May, we look forward to the process of reopening our facilities to our community. This process will be in accordance with the Governor’s guidelines and phasing. Once we are closer to these stages, we will communicate clear COVID-19 prevention strategies and practices for staff and families re-entering the gym. We are eager to get back, yet safety is of the utmost importance. We will take every step we can to provide our community with a clean and safe facility. This means that you will see things such as more class offerings throughout the day to accommodate smaller numbers of people in the gym at all times; thorough cleanings taking place after every group exits the building; limitations to the number of spectators in the gym; extra stations for hand sanitizers; areas such as water fountains closed down; and more. We will continue offering online training throughout the summer for those who prefer to stay home a little longer. It is our hope you will find value in these precautions, and continue to support Ultimate Kids throughout these phases of re-opening our facilities.

Ultimate Kids needs families just like yours now more than ever. We work harder each day to provide you with the best and most up-to-date information we can. We regularly meet in online round tables with gyms around the state and country, learning from and supporting one another. We also continue to work alongside other small business owners in Greensboro, and are so grateful to the members in the community for supporting Ultimate Kids: Home of Tumblebees for the last 35 years. We stand strong with all of you in this season of crisis. Together, we all will become even better than we were before.

All of us at Ultimate Kids continue to do what we do because we truly love it. It is our passion, and for many of us, our life ambition. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely

~ The Ultimate Kids Ownership Team

March 24 Update

Dear Ultimate Kids Families,

It has certainly been a tough few weeks. Last week we shared that we had hoped to reopen our facilities to our families in April. The evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic has led Governor Cooper, this week, to close our facilities and the facilities of all others in our industry.

Today, walking through our dark and quiet facilities was more difficult than any of us could have imagined. The usual joyful chatter of children having fun while learning was substituted with silence. Sad does not even begin to capture the emotion. We miss our routines, our gym families, and most of all the children we teach.

Over the past few days we have been overwhelmed by words of support via email, phone, and social media. It has given us encouragement and hope, from our caring and loving community, that we can continue to work through this crisis together.

Graciously, several of you have asked how you can help us through this difficult time. We have been truly touched by the generosity offered to us. We fully realize that we are not the only ones who have suddenly found themselves in this predicament. We understand, and certainly do not want to add stress to your current situation.

One of our immediate goals is to ensure our amazing staff are taken care of. We have cut all expenses to the bare bones for the time being. Any tuition we receive will help us maintain until we reopen. And one thing remains sure - we WILL reopen our doors to our students, families, and the community, and we will emerge stronger than ever. Ultimate Strong!

We have had several people contact us and ask “what happens next?” For the classes missed in March, we have issued a makeup token to your family’s account. These can be used toward any one-hour class, once “in-person” classes resume. For example, if your child is scheduled to attend class on Monday, you would attend your regularly scheduled class. Then you could use their makeup token to schedule another class that same week.

For April, we are providing online learning for all of our students. Thanks to the help of our tremendous staff, we have developed an online program to not only keep your children moving, but also to help them refine their skills at home, help them become stronger and more flexible, work to improve their balance and coordination, assist them one on one, and give them a chance to connect and interact live with our professionally trained staff. Your children/athletes will have the opportunity to not only take live online classes once a week, but can join multiple classes per week as offered. We will also include pre-recorded videos for them to follow, as your schedule allows.

The department leaders will be sending a detailed schedule for your program, later this week, with information on when classes will be offered, how to sign up, and exactly what you can expect day to day from our instructors. We know that this is a tough time for many and, because of that, we are offering this online training to each of our families for only $46 per child/athlete. This will be charged automatically on April 1st, 2020 in lieu of the typical $76 tuition. If you have another athlete at home that has not been taking classes with us but you would like to sign them up for online instruction, we would love to have them. Simply login to your family portal, and register them.

For families who are able, we need your support now more than ever. For anyone willing to pay their normal $76 monthly rate for April and May ($152 total) by April 1st, 2020, we are offering the online training program (discussed above), and makeup classes for all of the classes missed in April (and any potentially missed in May). Also, as a “thank you,” we are offering 15% off of your monthly class tuition from June through December. If you are willing and able to commit to this, please email our front office at office@ultimate-kids.com and let them know by March 31, 2020.

Again, we appreciate the overwhelming support we have been receiving. If you are not doing so already, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Even if you are unable to commit financially, you can greatly help our company by commenting and interacting with our social media post, resharing posts, pictures, and videos, and writing rave reviews about Ultimate Kids. We would love for you to tag us in your social media posts that demonstrate how your child is training and staying active using our online resources.

We miss your children and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

March 20 Update

Dear Ultimate Kids Families,

We have missed your children this week. It has been quite a different week for all. Please know we are thinking about you, and cannot wait to reach the point when we can be all together again.

At this time, in step with the nation's efforts, we are following the President's and Governor's recommendations and mandates, and will continue to remain closed for classes and activities through March 31st, 2020. Please know that during these unprecedented times that your support in Ultimate Kids is very much needed, for all of the staff/families we employ. Team athletes, your coaches have already begun communicating with you pertaining to your training plans in the coming week.

We are beyond fortunate to have an amazing staff. They have been working hard to find new, innovative ways to teach and interact with your kids. This week the staff also spent hours deep cleaning the gym, looking for ways to connect while we are closed, making and editing videos for your kids to watch and do at home, creating activities for them to enjoy, using resources to continue training physically and mentally. We have been nothing but proud to see what could be a dark moment for our company, shine brighter because of these fantastic coaches. For day to day updates on what is going on at Ultimate Kids, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

We are also excited to unveil a video resource for all of our members! Please visit Vimeo. Type in the password Tumblebees to access any of the program albums for instructional, informational, and fun videos for your students/athletes.

Stick with us! We need your support now more than ever. All of the classes missed will be allowed to be made up through the end of the summer. We have plans to add more class options and flexibility for make-ups.

We also are implementing new adjusted schedules to reduce the number of athletes in our facility at one time, allow for thorough cleanings between classes, offer more time options during the day, and give more flexibility and chances for students/athletes to take class during each week.

Once again, thank you for all of your support during this time!

March 16 Update

Dear Ultimate Kids Families,

Effective today, Monday, March 16th, 2020, Ultimate Kids will temporarily suspend all classes and activities, at least until Sunday, March 22nd. Team families, your head coaches will be contacting you all directly.

Please know that this was not an easy decision as nothing brings us greater joy than having your kids in our gym. We have been meeting around the clock with internal and external resources, all in an effort to make the most sound decisions for our families, our employees, and the people of our community. The number one goal of our company is, and has always been, to have happy, healthy kids. This philosophy continues to guide us as we face the challenge of responding to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), which has been declared a pandemic by The World Health Organization. We want to stress that there are no known cases of the Coronavirus at Ultimate Kids, we are simply doing this out of caution and to protect our families.

We won’t deny that this has been trying on all of us, our staff members, our leadership, the community as a whole. We would be foolish to think it wasn’t trying for you as you try to make informed decisions for your family. We thank you for walking through this with us and for your patience through it all.

We will continue to hold day camps for the remainder of the week, that we have committed to, in an effort to assist those families who have no choice but to work.

We are committed to taking care of our staff during this time as we value our employees as extended members of our family. We ask that you stay enrolled in classes knowing you are able to make-up all the missed classes you might have. We will offer options for make-ups, when we resume operations, through the end of the summer. We are also working on a series of videos made by our staff for your student/athletes to have while they are home. It is our hope this will continue to allow them to connect, and burn some energy at the same time.

We cannot wait for everything to go back to normal and to see all of the wonderful faces of your children again. One thing we DO know is this, too, shall pass. Things will go back to normal and until that time, we are all in this together. Ultimate Kids strong!

We understand the challenges this pause may create for you and your family. Our goal is to be part of the solution by limiting social contact. We appreciate your continued support through this difficult time. We know there will be some happy with our decisions and some who will scoff. We are trying our best to make the right decision.

We will continue to monitor and reassess the situation and will provide another update later this week. We look forward to welcoming you back to our facility in the near future.

March 15 Update

Dear Ultimate Kids Families,

First, thank you all for your patience and support as we have been navigating our way through unchartered territory. Behind the scenes, we have been discussing, preparing, and planning for our UK emergency stages in regard to COVID-19. In light of the Governor’s and Department of Public Instruction’s announcement to close schools starting Monday, March 16th, Ultimate Kids has initiated our planned course of action.

Is Ultimate Kids open?

Yes. Ultimate Kids will remain open with some adjustments.

Beginning Monday, March 16th, we are modifying our programming to reduce the number of students and families in the building at one time.

  • All instructional classes are continuing as regularly scheduled until further notice. We ask all families to please limit the number of people accompanying their student/athlete to the facility to one person.
  • Competitive programs will receive correspondence from their Head Coaches for adjustments to their training schedules.

Steps we are taking to keep our families safe:

  • Sanitizing restrooms, counter tops, equipment, seating areas, door knobs, and commonly used areas frequently throughout each day.
  • Having a professional deep cleaning of our public areas completed multiple times a week.
  • Enforcing our illness policy with staff and students.
  • Providing hand sanitizer throughout Ultimate Kids for your use upon entry and exit.
  • Asking everyone to wash or sanitize their hands upon entry and exit of the building.
  • Asking all students/athletes to bring their own personal water bottles to class.
  • Limiting employees' business travel pending approval from ownership.
  • Continually updating plans in place for the potential next stages of the virus. We are meeting often to refine and adjust our plans and procedures as necessary.

NOTE: The two week school closure is mandated by the Governor of North Carolina as a precautionary measure to reduce the spread of illness. Ultimate Kids is following the CDC recommendations for recreational centers with elective programming, and in some ways, going beyond the minimum. We ask all families to please limit the number of people accompanying their student/athlete to Ultimate Kids to one person.

What if I choose to miss class?

Our administrative staff has moved all expiration dates for make-ups to the end of August 2020. We will be liberal with make ups and will do all we can to accommodate the families we serve. Make-ups can be made, with prior arrangements, in another class during the week or continue to use TumbleTime. Families will simply need to call or email to schedule their child(rens) make-up classes.

Will other programming still be available?

Yes. We plan to host our scheduled College Night on Thursday, March 19th from 9-11pm and Teen Night on Saturday, March 21st from 6-8pm at our Ultimate Team Training Center. Numbers will be limited for both events.

We also plan to host TumbleTimes on Friday, March 20th from 4-5pm for preschoolers, and 5-7pm for school agers, as well as Parents Night Out on Saturday, March 21st from 6-9pm.

Our rock climbing facility will also be implementing an adjusted schedule with modifications on the number of members climbing at one time.

Will there be camps to assist working families?

Ultimate Kids is offering School’s Out camps to our community members. We have consulted the CDC guidelines and put a lot of thought into this decision. We support social distancing whenever possible, but we know that the decision to close schools puts many families in very difficult and stressful positions. March 13 Update

Dear Customers of Ultimate Kids:

At Ultimate Kids, the health and safety of our children and families are of the utmost importance. In light of the recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to update you on the protocols we have in place to help prevent the spread of germs, as well as measures you can take to help keep you and your family safe.

COVID-19, like other human coronaviruses, has symptoms similar to the common cold or flu. Some people experience mild illness while others become very sick. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), an organization of 67,000 pediatricians dedicated to the health of all kids, is closely monitoring the virus and has made the following recommendations for staying well. These recommendations have also been endorsed by the CDC, Oregon Health Authority, and other public health experts.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you cannot wash your hands, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% of alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when you are sick or becoming sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue (not your hands) and throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Below are some of the protocols we have in place as well as additional measures we are implementing to help protect our Ultimate Kids family:

  • Our gym is professionally cleaned twice a week, which includes deep cleaning and sanitization. Additional focus has been placed on high use areas and surfaces.
  • We have sanitization stations throughout the gym and cleaning supplies onsite that staff use to do additional disinfection throughout the day, everyday.
  • All props and materials used for gymnastics classes, Preschool Play, After School Care, and camps are cleaned and disinfected daily.
  • Staff are exercising diligent hand washing practices. We have extra coaches available at all times so that staff are able to stay home when they are sick or becoming sick.

At this point, we plan to remain open as normal, throughout the duration of this event. We will hold classes, team practices, birthday parties as scheduled, and will also offer day camps in the event they are needed to assist our families seeking care. We know that there is nothing better for the immune system than physical activity and will keep providing this service as long as we are able.

We offer makeup classes and open gym credits so that families can keep their children home when they are sick.

We ask that all athletes bring a personal water bottle with them to practice, as we will be shutting off the water fountains for the next short while.

We ask all families to exercise good hygiene practices and keep your child home from class if they are experiencing symptoms of a cold, flu, or other illness. Please contact our front desk to report an absence prior to the start of your class to receive a makeup class or open gym credits. We will continue to carefully monitor the news and developments related to this situation and will provide updates as appropriate.

We will update you as the need arises via email and social media. If you are not yet following us on facebook and instagram, please go ahead and do that for all of the latest updates.

We appreciate your attentiveness to this matter and your help in keeping our community safe!

Sincerely,
The Ultimate Kids Ownership Team
