Dance Class Dress Code

The dress code for all school-age dance classes for the 2022-2023 session is detailed below.
Street clothing is not allowed in class.

For your convenience, we are attaching a printable pdf file of the Class Dress Code with information. Additionally, class leotards are on file at Carolina Dancewear. Just give them your classes and level and they will assist you with purchasing what you need.

HAIR: Ballet students must have their hair in a bun or pulled away from the face if not able to get into a bun. For all other classes, hair must be pulled away from the face.

BALLET
  • Pink, skirted leotard
  • Pink or skin tone ballet shoes (no strings)
  • White/skin tone tights

CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL
  • Leotard or unitard
  • Leggings or shorts
  • Half soles and Footundeez
  • Crop top welcome over leo/uni

DANCENASTICS
  • Leotard (any color)
  • Black leggings
  • No shoes

HIP-HOP
  • Leotard or unitard
  • Leggings or shorts
  • Fitted tops
  • Crop top welcome over leo/uni
  • Clean sneakers only to be worn on dance floor

JAZZ
  • Leotard or unitard
  • Leggings or shorts
  • Black jazz shoes (no shoestrings)

TAP:
  • Leotard or unitard
  • Leggings or shorts
  • Black taps

MALE DANCERS:
  • Solid shirt (white for ballet classes)
  • Solid active-wear shorts or pants (black for ballet classes)
  • Ballet Classes: Black or skin-toned ballet shoes
  • Dancenastics Classes: No shoes needed for gymnastics; black or skin-toned ballet shoes for dance.
  • Tap Classes: Black flat tap shoes
  • Jazz Classes: Black split-sole jazz shoes

OTHER:
  • Dance Notebook

2022/2023 Dance Team Dress Code

For your convenience, we are attaching a printable pdf file of the Team Dress Code with information. Additionally, class leotards are on file at Carolina Dancewear. Just give them your team and they will assist you with purchasing what you need.

NOTE: Tiny, junior, and senior team dancers must give their leotards to the dance department to have the Ultimate Dance logo added.

TINY TEAM:
  • So Danca Gionata leotard - black (SL126)
  • Skin tone tights
  • Ballet classes: skin tone canvas ballet shoes
  • Tap classes: black flat tap shoes that velcro or slip on (no ties)
  • Lyrical/Contemporary classes: barefoot (optional half sole ballet shoes)
  • Jazz classes: black split sole, slip on jazz shoes (no ties)

JUNIOR TEAM:
  • So Danca Gionata leotard - burgundy (SL126)
  • Skin tone tights
  • Ballet classes: skin tone canvas ballet shoes (no ties)
  • Tap classes: black flat tie tap shoes
  • Lyrical/Contemporary classes: barefoot, half sole ballet shoes
  • Jazz classes: black split sole, slip on jazz shoes (no ties)

SENIOR TEAM:
  • So Danca Gionata leotard - dark purple (SL96)
  • Skin tone tights
  • Ballet classes: skin tone canvas ballet shoes (no ties)
  • Tap classes: black flat tie tap shoes
  • Lyrical/Contemporary classes: barefoot, half sole ballet shoes
  • Jazz classes: black split sole, slip on jazz shoes (no ties)

OTHER:
  • Ballet Dictionary (can be pruchased from Ultimate Dance for $10)
  • Dance Notebook

June 2022 Recital Reminders

Pre-Recital Prep
  • ALL program ad materials are due NO LATER than Friday, May 13th!!!!
  • Final week of class to practice for rehersal is May 23-27. It is important that your dancer attend class that week.
Recital Dates:
  • Dress Rehearsal – Friday, June 3rd
  • Recital – Saturday, June 4th
